If I'm being honest, I'm from a little state nobody believes exists.. Wyoming. You would not believe how difficult it is to try and explain to someone who has never heard of that state how big, empty, and somehow beautiful it is.

I fell in love with the mountains at a young age. We were always camping and fishing and hiking. Spending so much time in nature, you learn to respect it and seek it out. As I grew up, I was curious about other countries, cultures, and languages. I set off around the world, living in countries from Colombia, to Germany, to Tanzania and I've visited dozens of others on my journey. Learning the languages and customs allowed me to have the most authentic experiences, experiences a typical tourist would never get.

I've seen the most beautiful places and met the kindest people. I have a deep respect for both the environment and the diverse cultures of the world. I tread lightly wherever I go. As I settle in my new home in Salt Lake City, Utah, I am constantly delighted by the natural wonders and how accessible they are. It leaves me wondering why more people don't get out and explore. I find constant inspiration all around me and hope my paintings help capture the complex detail of our natural world.

ARTIST STATEMENT

With my art, I seek to explore the mesmerizing complexities of the natural world. The symmetrical and abstract come together in surprising ways and vivid colors capture the range of nature’s possibilities. As some of the paramount issues of the day, environmental stewardship and cultural competency are more necessary than ever before. My work encourages exploration and action with an ultimate goal of inviting people to go and spend more time outside. It is also my most sincere hope to promote a curiosity for adventure whether that be in the local community, throughout the nation, or around the world. My travels have heavily influenced my appreciation for the environment which can been seen in the diverse settings of my artwork. I work largely with pointillism to create systematic, precise patterns which diverge into intricate disarray mirroring the complexity of mountains, forests, and deserts. From travels around the world to a simple day hike, I will continue to be influenced by the world and its people.
